Altona West Community Garage Sale

On Saturday, May 6th, we held our first Community Garage Sale. Mother Nature cooperated by providing us with a nice warm and sunny spring day.
About 10 to 15 percent of the community participated by putting their "goods" out onto their driveways and manning the post for the morning and early part of the afternoon.
There was an excellent turn-out with may visitors looking for deals and bargains. Potential shoppers were spotted as early as 7:15 AM and continued to arrive all morning. It was noted that many of the buyers were coming from outside of our community.
Due to the success of the event, we will consider running it again next spring. If you have any comments on the day, or suggestions for next year, please send an email and let us know.
We would like to thank Joan Hudson of Reimax Realty for lending us the folding signs that we placed around the outer edges of the community to promote the garage sale.
