4th Annual Altona West
Community Garage Sale

On Saturday, May 3rd, the Altona West Community Association held our fourth annual community garage sale. Although we had a cool breeze for most of the day, it was bright and sunny.
One hundred out of a total of 800 homes, or 12.5%, participated in this year's sale. Some of those participants had quite a range of goods out for sale. There were even several groups of entrepreneurial children out on their driveways selling refreshments to bargain hunters. The two most active streets were Oakburn and Sandhurst, each with 15 households participating.
As with previous years, the AWCA sponsored advertising for the event through the News Advertiser, Rogers Cable 10 community station and of course this website. We also requested that the City of Pickering post the information on their electronic sign located at the intersection of Liverpool and Kingston Roads.
We hope that everyone who participated had a good time and some success selling their "wares".
